1. BackGround/Purpose
Thanks to the progress of network and digital filing systems,
a large amount of medical and healthcare data are being accumulated.
Analysis of such data is highly expected to give useful information for diagnosis.
The purpose of this study is to develop a method to analyze a large amount of medical
data so as to acquire the new information.
In most of conventional medical data analysis, the specific features are extracted from
the data as a preprocessing. In order to obtain new information by the analysis,
however, it is impossible to specify the features to be extracted.
Therefore, the original data must be analyzed in the
vector space without reducing the dimension.
In this laboratory, to analyze data-set in such a high-dimensional space,
we develope the fundamental techniques, such as Hierarchical Clustering etc, and apply
various kind of medical data.
