トップ > CPL emitters and detectors
Present status and what to do list : CPL emitters
1. Electrical helicity switching
[What’s Achieved] 1 kHz switching demonstrated at 10 K with dual-SIE spin-LED.
[Next target] Switching at higher frequency, say 1 MHz and higher.
2. Magnitude of polarization
[What’s achieved] Circular polarization of ~15% at 10 K with a x-AlOx tunnel barrier.
[Next target] Circular polarization over 15 % and polarization blending at 100 K.
3. Room temperature operation
[What’s achieved] None. This is the critical card in semiconductor spintronics.
[Next target] How to get around with spin relaxation due to phonons ?
4. Towards lasers
[What’s achieved] Collaboration with NAIST.
see e.g., JSAP 2013 Fall meeting, 16p-C15-6 (booklet 10-08)
[Next target] Put Fe/x-AlOx on top of the real stripe laser structure and test it.
Present status and what to do list : CPL detectors
1. Electrical helicity detection
[What’s achieved] Magnetization-dependent photocurrent obtained using spin-LED structure.
[Next target] Higher output voltage/photocurrent.
2. Magnitude of polarization
[What’s achieved] Demonstration done for fully polarized CPL.
[Next target] Quantitative detection of elliptical polarized light.
3. Room temperature operation
[What’s achieved] Detection of CPL at 300 K !
send us a request for our preprint which will appear in JMSJ (2014) soon.
[Next target] Establish the theory of CPL detection. We do not know why it was easier than CPL emitters.
4. Towards applications
[What’s achieved] None.
[Next target] Measurement of chirality of chemical substances with our CPL emitter and detector.
